Mary’s
6 Mary St, Newtown NSW 2042

An Introduction
Good food, quality company and an overflowing tankard – what more could an aspiring adventurer need? Every good fantasy caper has a social centre, and thankfully, we have our very own! Meet your fellow adventurers over an ale and a warm, delicious meal before embarking out into a realm of mystical wonder and social frivolity!
Step into our world as reality and fantasy meet at Mary’s Newtown. Like many places in our hybrid fictional world, Mary’s exists in both. As you play in thematic surrounds, allow your imagination to wander as you embark on wondrous journeys and uniquely interactive quests.
Meet the Tavern Keeper

Sydney events are hosted by our very own Tavern Keeper, Josh Sawtell and his team of Professional Dungeon Masters.
An artist across many mediums, Josh Sawtell is a firm believer in the pointed power and magical mystery that can be unlocked through a thoughtful narrative. He is charged with wielding his professional background in education and performance to bring a uniquely integrated fantasy world to life.
Josh is the creator of lore and the builder of Castell y Hyll as a region within the greater world of Dungeons & Castles.
Playing with a Professional DM
If you are playing with a professional DM they will have everything set up to make your experience as seamless as possible!

Getting There
With an eclectic mix of rustic resplendence, grungy garage vibes and even a dose of Mike Wheeler’s basement – Mary’s has you covered. Within the heart of Newtown, “the Church of the Divine Burger” is but a short walk from Newtown train station, near Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. An easy train or bus ride from almost anywhere in Sydney! If you prefer to drive, kerbside parking can be found in one of the many surrounding streets (such as Chelmsford St) where one side of the street is unlimited.
Find us up on the mezzanine for game nights!
Please note: due to the positioning of D&C Sydney within Mary’s, our sessions are not currently wheelchair accessible.
