Join your fellow adventurers as you delve into Book Two of Dungeons & Castles Sydney @ Mary’s Castle Hill. Adventure calls your name each week as you embark on interactive short stories that will impact the broader narrative. Each story blends reality and fantasy in a truly unique and engaging experience.

The realm of Castell y Hyll awaits those brave enough to explore the secrets, wonders and tales that are held within. Become part of the Book Two Narrative and stand up against the “INVASION” of our shared fantasy world.

During every Thursday evening, you will:

• Play with a Professional Dungeon Master, each of which an outstanding storyteller and orchestrator of thrilling tabletop roleplaying game play.
• Explore an original short form adventure steeped in the ever-developing lore of Castell y Hyll, written by your Professional DM.
• Enjoy the thematic and characteristic surrounds within the customised play spaces hosted by Mary’s Castle Hill.
• Make an impact, and know the influence of others, on the hybrid fictional world of Castell y Hyll as created by your host, Tavern Keeper Josh.
• Engage with welcoming, social, inventive and accessible Dungeons & Dragons game play with resources, experience and assistance at the ready.
• Access unique opportunities to explore real areas of Castle Hill to find treasure that will benefit your character as part of a treasure hunt style additive experience. You can even keep the treasure you find!

Time: Meet at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Each session will conclude at approximately 10-10:30pm.

A Short Introduction:

To what lengths would you go to protect your home from the unknown horrors beyond? As the earth beneath you is torn asunder, how will you stand upon a weakened foundation and face what is to come? The “Invasion” has begun and those that call Castell y Hyll their home look to their heroes, both sung and unsung, for hope and strength.

In Book One (2025 – “Progress”) our adventurers saw divided ideals between factions, an ever-present tug of war between magic and technology, the chaos that comes from being consumed by hatred and an imposter king’s rise to power. All orchestrated and instigated by sparks from shadowy puppeteers. Fear rose while hope faltered in the hearts of many. The chaos grew to an impending doom as a long and carefully crafted plan came to its climax. Little did any know that this would be the one final catalyst to break the very foundations of the realm. Now, with the threat of yet unknown entities looming it is up to a group of new adventurers and heroes to bolster the realms defences and ultimately find a way to halt, the “Invasion”.

This is but the start of many stories to come within Book Two, exploring the region of Castell y Hyll in the aftermath of Book One. Throughout the three Chapters that you play within the story this year, the actions of your character matter and make a difference to our shared world. To what end, is not yet written. It can only be lived.

The Adventure continues away from the table!

As you come to know the region of Castell y Hyll and its foundations within our own reality, you will be invited to engage with real locations in a unique way. Once per chapter our “Merging Realities” initiative will present you with clues, riddles and puzzles that will take you to specific and real locations that connect with their unreal counterparts within our fictional world. Discover lore, earn character boons and even win prizes as you blend both worlds and create a more meaningful and engaging experience!
