Chapter Four Character Options

Welcome Adventurer. The time has come to choose your character!

Some notes! Each character has the option for a male or female-presenting name and mini, which will be shown below (Some characters can be any gender, and thus have one name and one mini). Character Sheets must not be altered.

The physical minis are subject to change, and some may not have images yet; these will come in time!

Rurik Coppervein

Mountain Dwarf Fighter

Once a stalwart dwarven soldier who valued discipline and reliability over glory, Rurik Coppervein honourably resigned from the Kryalian army after decades of service, craving a life where their skills could be tested on their own terms. Leaving behind the rigid structure of the military, they transitioned into a dependable caravan guard and bounty hunter, bringing their unyielding pragmatism to the open road. Though they no longer wear Kryal’s colours, Rurik approaches every mercenary contract like a new campaign, determined to protect their charges and finish the job with the same steadfast grit that defined their military career.

Nelaros Irinon / “Fallen”

Half-Elf Paladin

Formerly a paragon of Kryalian justice, Nelaros broke their sacred oath in a moment of fury by executing an unjudged prisoner, an impulsive act that shattered their honour and identity. Stripping themselves of rank and adopting the name “Fallen,” they exiled themselves to bear the weight of their failure openly as a mark of penance. They now seek a brutal, self-destructive redemption, throwing themselves recklessly into danger to shield the helpless in the desperate hope that enduring enough pain might one day earn them the right to reclaim their true name.

Shaxan Seish

Tiefling Sorcerer

Raised near the Enchanted Forest, Shaxan developed a deep, unsettling connection with its shadowy depths, eventually manifesting an innate, dark magic born of fear and instinct. Alienated by the wary whispers of their fellow Northpass villagers and unable to tell where their own soul ends and the shadows begin, they no longer felt at home in the light. Shaxan now wanders the boundary of the unknown, carrying the forest’s darkness within them as an inseparable force that could be either a profound gift or a lingering curse.

Tarne Grandfoot

Halfling Bard

Inspired by a childhood encounter with a travelling Kryalian bard, this ghostwise halfling left their quiet clan to wander the Escos Republic, using their quick wit, silent communication, and blade to navigate the world. For years, Tarne carved out a reputation as a capable performer and fighter, until rumours of Kryal falling to invaders reached them on the road. The distant melody of their youth became an undeniable call to action, drawing Tarne into the heart of the conflict to ensure the unfolding tragedy becomes a tale worth telling.

Briar Thornwood

Human Ranger

A resilient hunter and warden from Woodhearst, Briar’s peaceful life on the edge of the Enchanted Forest was burned to ash when Illyros forces mercilessly invaded and destroyed their home. Driven by a cold, calculating vengeance rather than blind rage, this hunter-turned-soldier has answered Kryal’s call for aid. Briar now walks a path shaped entirely by loss, determined to track down the invaders with precise deliberation and ensure no other village suffers the same devastating fate.

Veyil

Drow Rogue

Operating out of the bustling, shadow-drenched Silver Brook Hamlet, Veyil built a lucrative career as a precise, permanent problem solver governed by a strict personal code against harming the innocent. Despite the comfort, anonymity, and coin of their current life, an inexplicable curiosity—or perhaps a buried desire to serve a higher purpose—has drawn them away from familiar shadows. Veyil has now answered Kryal’s call for aid, stepping into a chaotic conflict where their usual rules may not apply, testing whether their lethal skills can serve more than just the highest bidder.

Roontul Shelfery

Gnome Wizard

An endlessly curious student of war magic at Kryal’s academy, Roontul practised tirelessly to one day protect their home, only to be forced into a bitter retreat when Illyros forces prematurely attacked the castle. Carrying the weight of half-finished lessons and the sting of fleeing to preserve the next generation of mages, they were denied the chance to prove their worth on the battlefield. Now stepping into the harsh reality of war outside the academy walls, Roontul is determined to hone their magic in the field so that when the time comes to reclaim their home, they will never have to run again.

Kith Vuukash

Half-Orc Cleric

Despite facing prejudice for their heritage, Kith found purpose and acceptance in a Kryalian religious order, serving as a stalwart healer and guardian for the city’s soldiers. Their desire to finally step off the sidelines and fight on the frontlines was tragically cut short when, while escorting a supply caravan to Swordbreak, they learned that Kryal had fallen to invaders. Carrying the heavy burden of this loss, Kith now steps onto the battlefield with an unbroken faith, fighting not just to heal but to fiercely protect whatever embers of their ruined home still remain.

Avery Beauchamp

Human Artificer

A brilliant Kryalian inventor who prioritised helping people over building weapons, Avery spent years at the Tougou Oasis engineering vital water-preservation devices to foster a fragile diplomatic partnership. When news of Kryal’s fall shattered the stability of that distant treaty, Avery’s sense of purpose drastically shifted. Abandoning the safety of the oasis, they have returned to their war-torn homeland with a renewed urgency, determined to repurpose their ingenious, life-saving contraptions to aid the resistance in any way possible.
